The case that came with my new LX is the 9158, I think it is the deluxe case. Inside the accessory compartment there is a hole with a clear plastic tube stuck inside it. I am sure it is there for a reason, but I can't see what that reason is. Any ideas?

Ovation Joe, I have a Legend LX, and my case has that tube also. I have no idea what that is for. Maybe is it some sort of support for the case. Good question.

On Non-LX guitars with epaulettes, there is a truss rod tool that fits there.

That's what is in the hole in my 1858 Elite 12's case. Looks like a giant 3/16" allen wrench. Every USA Ovation should come with the appropriate wrench, imo. Tony Calman was kind enough to send me a gen-u-ine Ovation truss rod wrench for the O's with a truss rod cover (1/4" socket wrench). I used it a little while ago. Experimenting with different setups is very interesting. It's also a lot easier now that Paul T. posted that you're supposed to leave the strings up to pitch when making adjustments.

The appropriate Allen wrench comes in that hole with round-sound-hole non-LX Ovations as well. Just a different length.

I just want to concur that the little tube is for holding a very large hex wrench for neck adjustments.
