Should I stick with the phosphorus coated (EXP16) strings like on new American made Ovations, or, possibly, go with the 80/20 (EXP11) strings which are supposed to sound a bit brighter with the deep shiny bowl? Thoughts, comments, suggestions.

It's a subjective question. The only way you can really get the answer and form the opinion of what you like is to try them yourself. If you're looking for Bright sound though try the 80/20.
That's just my gut talking. But try one if you don't really like it, try the other.
I know,..I'm really no help at all. But, I'm good at heart. :D

Funny you should bring this up as I'm going to be re stringing my Glen Campbell Deluxe Balladeer which arrived today!. I've got EXP 11's, but now you've got me thinking that something less bright might be good. My experience with deep shiny bowls is that they have a very bright sound regardless of the strings, so going with a string that is less bright might be good.

As a follow up, the EXP 11's sound terrific on my shiny bowl (or is it just the joy of playing that guitar?).

You should only use shiny strings on a shiny bowl guitar (ha ha). I don't alter string type by guitar. I use EXP on everything.

What kind of strings on which guitar.

Kinda like what brand of beer to drink in the shade, on the beach, at dinner, by the pool, diving on the freeway, in a Mexican restaurant, watching the debate, waiting on the tee on a par three.

You get the picture.
