How does the celebrity viper stack up against other solid bodies in the $400 range? The two that come to mind are the Epi Chet Atkins SST and the Godn A6. Any thoughts? I am seriously considering a soldbody. Anyone have a viper?

I haven't played an Epi SST, but I have had several Godins and like them a lot. Very light, good necks, and more EQ band choices than a Viper. At the risk of treason, I would probably take a Godin over a Celebrity Viper. I would take an ESP Eclipse Semi-Acoustic over the Korean guitars, too.

But if you can get a good price on a USA EA68 Viper, there is no comparison. Every once in a while, one sells on eBay for slightly more than the upper average range for a Godin Acousticaster or A6.
