Arroused my interest enough to ask them to hold it for 24 hours so that I could hear from the OFC experts.
It appears to be a 12 fret slothead in a parlor size.
The strange thing is it looks like an acoustic but looking inside I can see a circuit board. Also there are single line marks on the top like an unmarked control panel.
It looks to be in excellent to near mint condition. I did not ask about a case but I am sure it comes with one.
Are these guitars any good? What is a good price? They are asking $950 but I am sure it is negotiable downwards like most pawn shop prizes!

The one currently on Ebay has new electronics installed?? I guess this was sent back in and done....is that very common at all?
I will need to check the neck width to see if it is a wide neck or not. All I know is it played very easily and sounded very nice.
Most of the threads (2003-2003) mentioned around $500-550, so taking inflation into account, maybe around $600 would be a good deal.

Location: Wooster, Ohio | Great guitar be sure you get the original case. It would have green plush and fits like a glove. Best case I have seen. If you played it you will know if it is a wide neck. The normal neck feels small in most hands.

Location: Phoenix AZ | The origianl electronics suck big-time. Basically un-usable. If you want to plug in, do yourself a big favor and get the electronics upgraded. The one on ebay with the OP50 is definately the right idea. |

Sounded very very sweet and the electronics (when switching volumes) were totally silent. Not minty mint but pristine mint. It was a wide neck and it was definately calling my name....
but not too loudly because they wouldn't budge a dollar below $899.00 which seemed a little on the high side from prior discussions on the OFC.
Anyway, for 900 bills I can probably win the one that is on ebay right now with the upgraded electronics.
Does adding the newer electronics add to the value of the guitar. I don't ever see myself plugging this guitar in....more of a sitting in the sunroom with a tall cool drink, thinking everything is all right with the world. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I'm not sure I would pay $900. but then again, I'm not the price police. If you never plug in, the original electronics will not bother you. In fact its probably preferred. The OP30 huge can of electronics takes up a significant amount room inside the cavity. People say it does not effect the acoustic sound. I'm no acoustical engineer, but if that's true than everyone with an acoustic only guitar should tape together 3 packs of playing cards and shove them inside the guitar and be confident that it will not effect the sound. |

I though $900 was awfully high also. Maybe if it sits around another 2-3 months they will consider dropping the price. Apparently they got it 9/24/04 so only 3 months on the floor. |

Location: Midland, MI | Just as a data point, and as I reported in a much earlier thread...the local music shoppe has a 97 collectors (original electronics) on consignment for $1200 (or maybe it was $1295). Sounded incredbile, looked/felt great. I thought the price was high, though. |

Location: Wooster, Ohio | I think the electronics go with the guitar. Out of sight, makes it look totally acoustic. I have used the electronics and had no problems. Biggest criticism is there is no way to tell where the volume is set. It always goes to the middle when unplugged, and I have used the touch controls with no problem. Perfect no, but neither is a glob of electronics stuck in the middle of a old style parlor guitar. Sometimes different can be fun. I have heard that the endplug on some were replaced.
