Although I like the 1763 Classic that I have (nylon, cedar, 2" nut), there are several members who got the 1763, then sold or traded and are now playing the Country Artist since the neck is smaller.

I have been told by several on OFC that it is the 1 11/16" at the nut or wide neck. I have emailed the seller to make sure. The 1997-N has a 1 7/8" at the nut. 1 7/8" at the nut equals 1 14/16" which is wider than 1 11/16" . Wouldn't the 1 7/8" be the wide neck and the 1 11/16" be the narrow neck? Stephen

The 1-11/16 is called "standard", the 2 is called "classical, and the 1-3/4 AND 1-7/8 are BOTH called "wide". The 1-7/8 is found on the Folklore, Country Artist, Adamas Widenecks, Josh White, 1997-W Collector, and all 12-strings. The 1-3/4 is found on the FD-14 Folklore Deluxe and at least one other very special guitar. Dave

I know that was an old thread I dregged up but it had the nut specs that had me confused. The current 1997-W is at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3771454690 and that is where they say it is 1 3/4" when I guess it should really be 1 7/8"..... Stephen
