I knew this 1591-BCB Adamas III was made but this is the first i can see!! Don't know exactly how many were made but surely not so many. The design of this guitar come from an early Adamas prototype. Look at: http://jeromegalopin.free.fr/Catalogues/Ovation%201997%20Catalog/Ovation%201997%20Catalog.html This is a 1997 catalog and you can find some informations on page #7. :) Jérôme

The following year Ovation offered the Adamas I with different style eppaulets and and standard 5 piece neck, and the following year, even that was gone in favor of the SMT and CVT.

He and I have been exchanging some stuff over the past months and he has done a great job of assembling some valuable information that we can all benefit from. Plus, you may just learn a little bit of FRENCH as a bonus. Welcome Jerome. I must appologize that I never directed you to this club long ago. For some reason I always assumed that you were already a member and that is how you found me to begin with. Anyway, you're here now and you will enjoy it for sure. Bienvenue, bonne santé, et nouvelle année heureuse.

I'm not sure that is the authentic Bill Kaman since a lot of the wirds attributed to him ain't spelt write. :) One thing that caught me off guard was the page on the basses. Either I'm seeing something I never knew existed or a mistake was made ... the Viper bass has the "extended fret" neck that's normally on the Elites and the Elite Bass has the "squared off" neck that is unique to the Viper line (except for a couple of collectors I think). It's compunded by the 5-string aspect which they got right based on the model number shown. Did Ovation ever make a 5-string Viper bass with a neck like the one shown on the Elite?
