Heck Guys if I'd known the reserve was set that low, I would've been really tempted to bid. If that's the final bid, someone's going to walk away with this ovation for possibly under $400!

Such a good instrument would be worth the investment to send it to the factory for refurbishing...they can make the headstock virtually new again, can't they, if they closely match the wood grain?

I emailed Ovation Customer service and they do headstock repairs. I 've heard of several instances that after they finish the job, you have a hard time telling where the repair was made. They also do refinishes on o's with Laquer Cracks,So of course that will make it good as new. It all depends on how much you want to spend, but the headstock repair i believe could cost around $150 to $200(ballpark figure) depending on how bad it is.best to always get a quote from them after they've looked at the instrument. With The great job Ovation Does on the repair It's worth every penny you'll pay.

Considering that is a collector guitar, if the ebay bid price stays low it would be worth having it restored, especially to keep it for personal use. I don't remember what the retail was for a '94 Collector but it had to be what?, about $2000 or so?...and it was a unique design that year.
