I'm a fan of Ovation guitar for a long time and I own a Balladeer Special S771-W and have really a lot of pleasure to play on it.
I always had a dream : an Adamas Guitar.
I have the project to buy An Adamas SMT 1587...
Is it a good idea or a crazy one ?
Will I feel a real big difference of sound and pleasure comparing with my Balladeer ?
Do I have to keep only my Balladeer ?...
How can I decide ?.. Thanks for your help and advices.

First of all, all Adamas guitars are GREAT guitars with incredibly good sound and playability. However, it all boils down to what kind of guitars you like to play on and what kind of sound you like to have. I would say that if you are used to a Balldeer and like that sound you will get a BIG smile on your face when you play an Adamas.
I would say: Keep your Balladeer and try to find the use for that one too. It's also a nice guitar and can still be used around the campfire when you don't want to bring out the MasterPiece-Adamas.
It's probably a good idea to buy it from US and either pick it up when you come here for wacation or have it shipped back to Europe (however you might have to pay VAT and customs declaration if you ship it). |
