Hi Andy,
I have an Elite I purchased this fall.
As to the first question for me it was a good choice pluged in the tone and balance are awesome.
As for sitting I use a strap sometimes I dont it takes a little time to get used to.
No shirt, no shoes, unpluged no problem, I use it at nursing homes and volume, tone is just fine.
Enjoy I have no regrets with my Ovation.

I haven't played a CC024, so can't comment on that model. But, I can tell you that I have played my Elite standing up exactly one time. There are some who complain that the O's won't sit still and slide off their leg, but I've never had that problem. Then again, my Elite is a super-shallow bowl and it has the factory 'rough patch' on the bottom.

Hi,

I have three Ovations; 2- 12 string deep bowl
and 1- Celebrity CC059 super shallow bowl.
No problems sitting or standing. The celebrity is usually what I take to nursing homes. It is a little more durable to the elements and plugged in it sounds excellent. Get what your heart and pocketbook can afford.
