I've written here a few times in the past 6 months. My early posts were to complain that my 2000 S771 seemed to sound dull and lifeless.

My last post was that it tipped over on its stand and something fell on it smashing the top leaving a solid crack the entire width of the guitar.

Well it is back from the shop. You can barely tell the top was damaged. Maybe being a satin top that is a plus.

Well acoustically it now sounds rich and bassy. It sounds better than before it was busted.

This is really good news. The guitar looks fine now and sounds great. I am happy.

Still has that annoying Ovation metallic/twinkly b string that seems to be real prevalant on O's but it is now louder and fuller and bassier.

It is so good I'm like....I just spent $1600 on a Gibson searching for a rich bassy guitar and now the O is back with a similar tone.

Naturally I'm keeping both. I'm a happy camper now though $150 poorer..make that $1750 poorer. LOL.

I'm glad to see it has a happy ending.

I can't help but add that if you brought the Gibson back you could find a couple of really nice O's.
:D

Enjoy it all!
