I was thinking I could put a tube (pre)amp in line as well to round and plump the sound.
I am looking to create a great acoustic sound in my home. Extreme volume is not a concern. |

It can get fairly loud (not gigging loud of course) but sounds very good. Very natural sounding acoustic tones at an increased volume. |

I respect a man of few words. Sounds like I am on the right track.
Stephen,
In your set-up, are you playing through your Mac? I am a Mac user and I thought MOTO828 was a digital audio interface for Mac recording. |

I primarly use Cubase SX3 and Reason 2.5 for recording purposes.
I use a TC Helicon Voiceworks to make my singing bearable! |

You are a coupla steps ahead of my imagined set-up... The only gadget that would make my singing bearable is Van Morrison.
I am considering purchasing the Event TR8s, seems like they've got a great rep for lower cost monitor...Are you happy with them? |

I think for the price they are terrific little monitors. Most of the reviews I see are for the TR5's which didn't really float my boat when I heard them.....the 8's just had a better low end and all around natural sound. So many of the monitors I listened to had exaggerated bass or shrill highs....just not a natural, neutral sound.
One thing that improved the TR8's overall projection and tone was setting them up on stands and then resting them on top of Auralex monitor pads. I think one of the pics in my gallery shows them on the stands with the pads.
If you want something a little better at twice the price, check out the Genelec 1029A's. They cost more than I wanted to spend but sounded really nice. |
