Thanks Tony.

This is a good reference tool.

A lot of the sellers on ebay tend to inflate the manufacture's suggested retail in hopes of getting more for their instrument.

don't forget to add the price for a case and remember Kaman charges the dealer to ship the instrument from the factory to the vendor.

Thanks, that is cool. I noticed it listed a 1779-ad-II as well as a 1769-ad-II. Even with the prices right there, this list gives me gas. thanks tony

The "cat's eye" Adamas is going to be the 06 Adamas.

You might glance at the last entry in the Elite section, 6758LX.

Cat's eye in '06.

That is perfect as the budget was getting mighty thin!

Al...Moody might just be trying to lure you into giving up secret information. Beware.

Why is it that everytime I see 'moody, p.i.' I hear this voice in my head:

My name is Moody. I'm a PI. My address is six and seven-eighths Stetson Avenue. It was a Friday and I was mad at the world. I had another hangover and needed some quiet. What I didn't need was another excuse to buy an Ovation.

But, then *he* logged in. Alpep, Big Al. Proprietor of Lost Art Vintage. Procuring fine stringed instruments and collecting strange bodily ailments with no known cause were his specialities. Strange, yeah. But, that's Al. He wears mauve, 'nuff said.

He pours himself into the leather chair by the filing cabinet while I pour some cheap rotgut into dirty glasses. I know what he wants. He knows I know what he wants. More importantly, everyone on the OFC knows that he knows that I know that he knows that I know what he wants. And it's the same as the last time. Information. He's addicted to it. Like the three time loser that hangs out at the corner bar who's got a scratch he can't itch for midget women...er, little people. Yeah, that bad. And it's always the same...how do I know about the Cats Eye O? Who told me? Was I dumpster diving in New Hartford again? On and on.

...to be continued...

Al, I remember it from your post from back in December on what was coming up for this year. Although it was about the '05 Adamas. It's over half way down on the first page.

Didn't anybody in marketing proofread this document before it went out? B778 is now an Adamas? Cool! Vipers are under Balladeers ... actually they are in several different spots. At least the pricing is consistent. Then there is the multiple instances of the long neck, mandocello, folklore, etc. Some of the 12s you're looking for are there in number, but not in description (6756LX). Why, there's even a mystery guitar (no model or description, but a price) that I guess you can make up your own. I'd be having a freaking cow right now if my marketing people posted something like this to my website. Well, I guess all the QC goes into the guitars ... not leaving any for the marketing folk.

check out the url: http://www.ovationguitars.com/img/2005pl.pdf

doesn't look like this was sent out as a press release - heck, may not be the final draft.

found it on the internet looking for info on the 12-fret.

Tony,
I was kinda frustrated that I could not find any "real" info on the 12 fret 05.

Then I realized...we pretty much know all there is to know here at OFC. Being on the frontier, information is itself to be discovered.

I'm sure that any leaks from the executive branch would happen here before, most any other place.

Jeff
The whole idea of being in the fan club is to be in the loop. Hopefully, the factory keeps us in the know and I give out the info when I can. I think it is working rather well so far.

Al,
Yer right.
I had to realize; this is the first time I have ever bought guitar that wasn't even born yet. I am used to knowing a lot about a product before I make a major purchase. In this instance, I've made the purchase (assuming USPS delivers my check to you) before it is even off the line, and I get info as it becomes available (and before almost any one else in the world).

No regrets, or concerns, just a different (and exciting) angle on the buying experience.

What Jeff W. said. I have "bugged" Al a few times myself to get any information about the new 12 Fret for the same reasons Jeff stated. I have searced all over the internet and made several calls but like Al says "The whole idea of being in the fan club is to be in the loop. Hopefully, the factory keeps us in the know and I give out the info when I can. I think it is working rather well so far". This is absolutly true. We know more about these and any other "O" out there than everyone put togather from what I have found. Thanks Al, and I'm waiting for your call when you get 'em...
