I didn't know there were any left handed super shallow bowls in existance, so this is going to be a totally new playing experience for me. Not only is it my first SSB, but it's also (believe it or not) the first cutaway Ovation I've ever owned. I'm curious to know if lefty super shallows are somewhat rare, or are they fairly common and have just eluded me all these years? Any thoughts? Jeff

I can only imagine that the "Lefty's" are less common but and in fact more "rare" but use of the term "rare" has meaning only for the right handed populace. It is fickle and prejudiced(sp). I hope I got off on the right foot here. People will go nuts over some (RH)Tele-Strat for it's rarity (they all look the same to me) but the "Lefty's will sit there because there is a much smaller market. Ain't fair.

This baby SINGS! I assumed being a SSB, it wouldn't have much bass response or volume acoustically. I couldn't have been more wrong. Granted, it doesn't have the bottom end of a deep bowl, but I will say it sounds as good or better than any 70s/80s artist bowl I ever played--And I've played/owned several. This guitar was a special order built in 1995 (I know this because the original bill of sale was still in the case). It's still in brand new, mint condition, with the exception of just some very minimal fret wear. The case is also in immaculate shape--And all the original "case candy" is there too (owner's manual, service ctr brochure and another brocure explaining the Optima/OP-X pre-amp). This is one great guitar that didn't fail to meet my expectation in terms of quality, as I've come to expect nothing but excellence from Ovation (USA). But I have to admit it far exceeded my expectations with regards to it's acoustic character, volume and tone. A keeper for sure! Jeff

Very easy to do. Great looking guitar. I remember thinking "too bad it's a lefty" cause the top grain looked fabulous! Glad it sounds as good as it looks!
