...and I find an Ovation that looks just like the one I have at home. It's in great shape, and has a hardshell case. I didn't think to look at the model no., but the one I have is a Folklore, model 1114-4.
The one at the thrift store is going for $250.00.
Is this a great deal, or just pretty much what it's worth?
Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks!

John

IMHO, if in great shape, then a great deal...

+1 what they said. If it's in great shape, as you say and it plays well, why not. What else can you get for $250 these days?

Thanks guys! I found out it's an '82 Model 1614.
I think it's a good investment, or just a nice box to have, especially with a case.
I bought an ovation off my brother many years back, and he never had a case for it.
I foolishly used it without one and now it's in so-so shape.
Here's a pic. The one on the left is the new one.

Thanks! (and for fixing the link)
I tried to find more Folklores from that time on the net, but there doesn't seem to be any.
(Unsure if that's good or bad)
In any case, I love the guitar. My Martin's feeling neglected so I'll have to switch off from time to time.

Why when I go to local thrift stores or pawn shops all they have crap.

Glad someone who appreciates a nice instrument got it.
