Hey everybody

Right now I have a celebrity deluxe, but first all the super shallow bowl isnt enough volume for me. I play mostly unplugged, so I'm planning on buying a deep bowl american made ovation, but its got to be one I could pick up for about the same as I'll get from selling my celeb, plus maybe sixty or eighty bucks.

Any good ideas on what I should get in the 300-350 dollar range? I've been looking at a few early eighties legends on ebay. I'm not really worried about finish damage or anything. Just trying to upgrade to an american without breaking the bank (which in my case, by the way, is pretty easy to do :D )

Anyway, I'm looking for some tips on what i should shoot for.

Brian

Would definatly be a nice grab and it should sell for within your budget. 12 hours and counting!

I was really tempted by that one, but was hoping Brian would score.

It was a tough call, but I do plug up now and again to record. I dont think I could handle going without a pickup :(

Still on the lookout though! There're a few balladeers ending this week and even, according to the guy whos selling it, a "custom bandolier" :D

Jeff, I think scoring that O, even if it sounded good would have been a disappointment to you after the 12 fretter you got this week. Best that you contained yourself and let this GAS pass.

Yer probably right. I really am not of the collector mind. I don't like to have more guitars than I actually play. I'm pretty happy with ones I have now....but the thought of a pure acoustic is always floating about me like an aura.

I grabbed that Legend up! After a quick eval, it may well be on its way to the Mothership for a OPP install with an OP-Pro. Glad Brian didn't want it. There are still a few left. Also check out www.gbase.com and www.guitarlist.com . There are a few Legends on there for $300 range. Personally, I am looking forward to the Legend. I will then have an 80's Legend, 90's Elite Standard, Elite T Black Beauty, '05 Collector's and the Adamas U681T. I think i am done trading, selling and buying. Only adding to my Ovation collection. (I might keep my one Martin). kinda nice.

Nice grab zchord and a very nice variety of guitars. Adding the op-pro will be a nice touch.

Alright I changed my mind on going pure acoustic :)

I just picked up a '79 legend 1117!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7313273099&...

I'm anxious to see how it plays compared to my celeb-it may be a foreign guitar, but it'll be hard to beat.

It's going to be a LONG week.

By the way- I've got a celebrity deluxe for sale now if anybody's looking for one
