When you "bump" you are reposting so that it goes to the top of the listing. Many people (self) tend to skim the latest posts by using the "Get Plugged In" button.

Also a great way to reactivate a ggod topic that might have been overlooked the first time through.

I have seen topics that had maybe one or two responses that got bumped and then had another 10-20 responses come in.

I posted this on the "UPS" thread as well...

I tuned down to DADGAD for the first time on the U681T. I only know two tunes in this tuning.

...But good as the guitar sounds in standard tuning, it is even better in DADGAD and I'm not talking about the more melodic sound of the tuning but the way the guitar produces the sound.

Jeff;

My SlotHead's the same way.
As great as it sounds in "standard" tuning,
the thing just comes ALIVE when I tune it DoubleDropD.
Must have something to do with the resonant frequency of the top, but it just becomes an ANIMAL in this tuning (which is how I usually leave it now . . . ).

I hears ya, Cliff.
It sounds almost like a 12 string (I said *almost*). Unbelievable. I have to learn, more about and songs in, that tuning. It makes the hair on my arms stand up.

I've got a book on AlternateTunings and it lists (by tuning) several popular tunes that were recorded in each particular tuning. I'll check it tonite and post the DADGAD tunes . . . I seem to remember there's a bunch of 'em . . .

You can get 'em fur lined as well - don't leave marks (or so Camilla told me).

What gauge strings are you guys using when you drop tune?
