Got back yesterday from my daughter's graduation from college summa cum laude, which was great in itself, but also added 2 O's to the collection. My daughter and I went to the local guitar store and I picked up a 1989 1713 Classic. It is in perfect condition and sounds beautiful.
The same day my father in law acted as my broker to buy dcrunner's 1992 Custom Balladeer in Iowa. Thanks Collin. I haven't seen it except in pictures, but my father in law was impressed. My wife wasn't too happy, but she is making the best of my recent obsession. There are lots of things that could be worse. Maybe I'll finally get some pictures in the Gallery.

Apparently it wasn't you. What's up?

Oh, never mind. Forgot you were spending the weekend with in-laws.

Schroeder,
I got to meet my daughter's boyfriend's parents and grandparents for the first time this weekend. I'd sympathize with you, but they were very nice people. I think the boyfriend had a much tougher time with us than we did with them. Did somebody already say on this board that the difference between outlaws and inlaws is that outlaws are wanted?

Congrats on your daughters wonderful accomplishment! Summa cum laude WOW. Makes life worthwhile doesn't it? Well, some cool guitars sweeten it up also. I've had the "hots" for a 12 string Adamas for months now. And hey, my daughter will graduate in the top 10 of her high school (class of 243 students) next week.

My daughter turned 3 on the 17th and I just hope she makes it past potty training!

Kids like that don't "just happen". It takes a bunch of great parenting. Congradulations to BOTH your daughter and YOU. Good job!

Hey Mark...
Nice to see there is another Ovation nut here in Boise ... Did you happen to catch the Leo Kottke concert Wed. night?

No, I missed it. My parents came into town for my daughter's graduation. There have been a few ebay listings for Ovations in Boise recently, but most have been too high to bring a bid. I looked at another one today, supposedly for my daughter because my wife says I can't get any more for awhile after buying 2 last weekend.
This weekend is graduation for our second daughter in high school. Also valedictorian, 1500 on the SAT and plays piano like Chopin. Well, not quite, but she is Polish. In the fall I should have time to learn how to play these guitars.
