I have an Ovation 1717 German Special Edition Volume 1 (SN 515281) that came from a guitar shop in Louisville, KY. As far as I know, I am the second owner of the guitar....but it looked like it had never been played when I bought it a few months ago. The only trouble I have is a twang on the top string. I really notice it when I am playing unplugged, but the guys tell me you really can't hear it when it's plugged in. I have changed the strings a couple of times since I bought it and that helped some, but it's still there. Am I missing an easy fix somewhere???
P.S. Still sounds great though....

Check to see if the nut might have been filed too low or maybe the neck might need a little more relief.

Thanks Dave,
Another guitarist in town (who I am slowly turning into an ovation fan) already tried to adjust the neck. He is going to check the nut soon. I am just a guitarist....not real handy with the mechanical aspects!
