I know a standard chromatic guitar tuner doesn't pick up the octave differences, but is there a software program of any type that would aide in tuning a 12 string?

Why would you need to pick up the octave differences? Just tune both E strings to E. Maybe it's just that I'm tired and missing something, but can't you tell the difference between the octave strings?

My old chromatic tuner has no problem picking up the octave strings. Worst case, tune it by ear to the 12th fret harmonic of the normal string.

I use a Korg CA-30 Chromatic Tuner and have no problem with tuning my 12 strings.
