Location: Kane, PA | Hey fellow OFCers! I still have a lot to learn about the quality of guitars and materials, but I have this weird obsession with quilt top guitars. In all I've seen (in my small little world), I've only seen quilt top guitars with colors. Is there guitars or is it possible to have a natural quilt top guitars? Thanks for the help.

Many of the "Quilts" you see on the laminate tops are a result of the direction/angle that the blade shears the veneer off.
Strength and quilt don't always go together. Some techniques to bond or laminate, like the Redwood tops, seem to get the best of both worlds.
Then they are colored or stained to enhance and make consistant.
Have you gazed into the Redwood Collector's yet? Ask Tim - he'd be glad to expound. |

Lisa and I have had this conversation already, but there's one ugly thing she's not telling you...she's enamoured with a Celebrity quilt top! Do something...anything...to steer her away from that! |
