Hey there....just got back into town...what a great weekend...great to meet all you wonderful people...

After lunch wandering around to find a restroom, I stumbled across the room where all the finished guitars are lined up getting ready to be cased and shipped. I got one shot off before the door was shut in my face !!...

It's in the ERNIEWAN gallery under OFC 2005. Enjoy.

This is one room I could have spent a lot of time in, but then the fine Ovation people would have had to supply drool cups and towels..

Take care, Ernie

Except it isn't that organized...

...and probably has more guitars in it.

yeah, especially if 'vintage' includes 'supposedly never made'.

So this brings me to a point raised at the last Tour.

Anyone pilfer anything interesting (besides the Adamas) or pick up some spare parts whilst walking through the tour?

I hope to remember the "Looking for a bathroom" thing!

Ya know....I thought about it. There were bins and bins of scrap 5 piece neck material. It was asked a few times what they did with it. The answer was that alot of the employees have wood burning stoves. I heard later that a least one piece was saved from the fire. But I was to chicken to take one.

Somebody handed me one, it was just a scrap cutoff, but it has the 'skunk stripe' in it. I stuck it in my camera bag becuse I was too busy at the moment to deal with it. Found it after I got home. It's about 3" by 4".

To the bold go the spoils.

If I had one I would machine it into a even shape the put a glossy neck type finish on it. Oh well, maybe next time.
But I did bring home the booted Celebrity!

I think you got the better deal. All the way to Connecticut and all I got was this dumb block of wood and more GAS.

Last year they had given us some Sitka spruce "coasters" which were the "drop" that came from cutting soundholes. These were laser-etched with the Ovation logo and had the '04 TourJam date, etc.

Last month, I was finishing some MusicRoom panels with tung oil, and before I chucked each rag, I'd wipe it across each of the coasters. Really made the grain detail (and the etched lettering) "pop" . . .
