This is a link telling the story behind the song, Baracudda. There's quite a few good video shots of Nancy kickin azz with that Slothead. There's other media links on here as well. A must see.

What a pleasure to watch! This band was on FIRE back when and are STILL on fire at every recent tour I've been too. It's just too cool. Next tour, buy a ticket and check them out! You won't be disappointed, I can certainly promise you that!

Love the way that the clip ends with Nancy and a shot of her Adamas!

I remember seeing Heart play the LaborFest celebration at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska late '70's early '80's. It was very hot that evening, and we were treated to more than the music when several items of their clothing was removed. :D

OK folks - no rolling on the floor laughing outloud - I just joined this fan club - but I believe I own the guitar in the video. I bought it in 85 - and it came with the story of it being hers - I need to be able to confirm - any suggestions how? I sent it back to the factory for electronic upgrades a few years later - it still plays great. Where do I start researching the guitar? IT is definately one of the slotted heads - has a banged up head stock - the old nut we re-cut for very small hands - and the music store confirmed it was hers - this was 20 years ago - suggestions?

Also, what is the serial number. That would help quite a bit.

The serial number is posted in the Reference section under "The Elusive Slothead". Nancy's is number 44-93.

If elginacres truly has Nancy Wilson's old slothead, that would be a COUP, since I believe most people here thought she still had it.

OK - I'm not making promises here - this is what I know - I'll post pics as soon as I find my camera. I bought it in 1985ish from American Musical in Atlanta - they actually had to ship it to me in Tucson. Written on a legal pad was the description, that Nancy had owned it - it had ended up with a band called the Goads. I played it for a while, then from South Carolina had them update the electronics to an OP-24. They had to do extensive bowl work to get the electronics in. Prior to my owning it, both the nutt and the bridge had been recut to narrow some of the distnces between the strings. I've got pretty big hands, so I had them redo them back to typical distances. Since they had to cut an access hole in the back of the bowl, they redid the finish of the bowl. They had it so long, I argued about the price, and they did all the work for nominal charges. I remember it having a serial number, but what - I don't know. When it returned - they had put in a new one labeled 1687-8 with the # left blank. It is hand signed by what looks like CHKaman II. I've been playing it all along - no complaints - and a great tone it has. If it isn't hers - I'm not disappointed - but judging by the wear on the slotted head, and the wear on the fingerboard, coupled with how the nut and bridge used to be cut - it could be. If she still has hers, I wonder which one this may be. I'll post this message under the general posts as well. Thanks for the info so-far folks.

Have we not done this already?
She claimsd to have had two blue carbon tops. (I think one wasn't a slothead but WTF do I know?)
She traded one at Norms for a 69 Martin and the other is in storage.
