There's an image I could have lived without.

Of course, even a thong would have helped when he broke his 'strings'.

Adamas 2 on ebay

If you could grab this one for under $1000, you would never regret the decision and probably would relegate your celebrity to the beach or other outdoor gatherings.

Going back a long, LONG way on this thread.....I don't believe there has ever been a shallow bowl Adamas other than custom....has there????? Waiting for enlightenment.......

I'd look for a shallow bowl Balladeer or Legend, if shallow bowl is what you want.

LOL! HILARIOUS!

For some strange reason I find myself craving an Adamas. I'm just so intrigued by the graphite top idea.

Has anyone played a Rainsong? Isn't their more expensive models all graphite - neck, body and all?

I've also had very limited experience with these Piezo pickups. Is the construction of the instrument not as affective to the tone with these pickups? It was mentioned that the tonal difference between my CS257 and an Adamas was not substantial.

And did Marcel Dadi have a hand in the design of the Adamas? It seems like I read somewhere that he did.

I own an old style texture top Adamas. The acoustic tone is far superior to any Rainsong (or Korean O) I've tried.

Don't know if Dadi helped design it but I believe he did get one of the original prototype slothead models and his picture is in the Ovation book in the Adamas section.

I think it was said that the sound difference might not be worth the extra money spend. Be assured that the sound difference is very pronounced...as is the price difference.

tragocaster,
I guess we shouldn't be surprised that you have GAS pains already. I found this site around Christmas, when I was trying to find info on a Celebrity for $160. At that time I had the Matrix and Applause for years, but had been lusting after my neighbor's Legend. Now look what these guys have done to me. I didn't even know any of the models existed that I now have except the Balladeer. This free site can cost you a lot of money.

I thought it sounded biblical when I wrote it. I should have used the word "coveting". I still don't have a Legend yet, but my neighbor won't reinstate his offer to sell it to me for $300.
