Mr. Moody also just got a great deal on a 1627. For those who may be looking on eBay, this appears to be a good time to buy.

"you only get what you pay for"...that, with the ebay competition, and the scrutiny of the high-dollar instruments these days, that price was about average, compared with a MINT 1767 I purchased form a collector last year that was twice that much.... Of course, then they claimed UPS damage but did not insure it. I firmly believe that my ebay purchasing days are just about finished, too damn many scam artists.

All of my new guitars have been through Al. Haven't been burned yet. Through eBay, even if I have gotten what I expected, tough on the nerves waiting to see what is actually delivered.

The disclosed flaws were actually much more minor than described. This guitar looks like it was never played. Zero fret wear, perfect action, new Elixirs on it. Needless to say, my secretary is very pleased. She would have paid up to about $500 for an Ovation Legend in this condition. Lastly, it came shipped from Arizona via UPS. The box was totally undamaged and it was delivered on the scheduled date. I know that not all Ovation purchases on eBay turn out this well, but this guitar is a real gem at a rock bottom price.
