| I have come into possession of an Ovation guitar, but I'm not sure what model name or year it is.
Could any of you fellows help me?
Looking inside the sound hole, I see that it says
"Model No. 1617."
I also see a sticker in there that I suppose is the serial number.
It says "Ovation 214427."
It appears to be in basically like new condition.
Can anyone tell me what model Ovation (model name, etc.,) this is? And approximately what year would this guitar have been manufactured?
Is this particular Ovation model a good one, or a budget, "low end model," etc.?
Thanks in advance for any help or information.
Regards,
-Ward |

1617 Legend
From About 1980 (according to the OFC Serial Number Page).
Nice Guitar, Very Nice. Somone on here will tell you about what kind of bracing it has, and how it sounds better or worse than some other kind...If you want to know what it's worth, search Ebay, put some good light guage strings on it and play it!! |

This was probably one of the worst sexual innuendos ever said on TV, "Ward don't you think you were a little rough on the Beaver last night?" :D |
