New one on me, looks exactly like a 1869 . The price list has it listed as a Custom Legend Special, only one year (1993). Anybody know what makes this "special" and different from an 1869?

The 1869 was also super shallow. This has abalone around the finger board like the book models do. That and the metal-flake black seems to be the only difference.

If it's anything like the 1869 - which it seems to be except for the extra neck bling - it's a great guitar. It's a great stage guitar, but being a super shallow the acoustic tone is a bit thin compared to the deep bowls. I sent mine to Mother for the spa treatment and it was one of the easiest players I've had. The black is a bitch-kitty to keep clean, tho. :p

Think I'm going to watch this, too. I already have four SSBs and certainly don't need another, but the bling on this one continues to whisper sweet things in my ear. I hate it when guitars and amps do that to you.

I'm going to try to go look at it this weekend. If I do, I'll post my review.

Hmmm. No bids yet. OK, I'll put it on my watch list. Just out of curiosity. But I'm not gonna bid. I'm NOT gonna bid . . .

OMA,

that's the same one Serge linked in the first post. Did you spend too much time on the Irish Whiskey thread? :p
