| (Still sorta new guy here) Been looking for an Ovation for a few weeks, missing one I had 8 years ago.
Took a chance on a dinged up red 1861 Balladeer on Evil-Bay. It has Op-24 electronics, quite a few little finish cracks, some gouges in the neck, and one of the headstock wingtips broken off.
OK, so it ain't purty. $102.51 seems like a chance I can afford!
I'll be happy if it plays nicely! I've missed my old one! |

Location: Hicksville, NY | Congrats on your new guitar! I have one just like yours with OP 24 electronics - same color, sans the break on the headstock and cracks - but it's now littered with scratches next to the soundhole (below the 1st string) from too much strumming. I considered installing a pickguard in the past, but I decided to accept it as some form of "mojo" or something.
As previously mentioned ... looks aren't everything! The guitar plays wonderful unplugged and the Op-24 electronics makes it come alive plugged in. Without a doubt, you will have fun with that guitar for a very long time. :)
Peace!

| Question, while I wait to see if this guitar is a player or not: The serial number indicates it was made in 2000 - would that year's Balladeer still have the "Kaman Bar" neck? |
