If someone has a negative or two, I look at the items to see why and also go to the person who left the negative feedback and check them out. Sometimes retalitory feedback can reflect poorly on a good seller.

I have 1168 positive, I have probably 3K transactions over e bay not everyone cares about leaving feedback. no offense ken but 1% is a joke. ask any major retailer what their negative rating is and I would be that they consider 20% an acceptable range. feedback is only a guide. the woman that tried to rip me off had PERFECT feedback until the day I never heard from her again and they pulled her account.

(Even, if feedback doesn't represent all transactions) Legitimate feedback or not...as a buyer, that's what I see and I'm not going near any one that has 20% negative feedback as the odds are good I'll be one of those 5

Used to be "three strikes and you're out" for buyers, three seller complaints of non-payment and a buyer was excluded. It was changed last year such that it is impossible now to tell how many non-paying auctions a buyer can rack up now before eBay excludes the I.D. But.....eBay is still much friendlier to sellers....I sell on eBay myself. I would never argue otherwise. Al is right about feedback. My feedback number is in the high 500s, but if everyone had given me feedback, I'd easily be over 700. Roger

You're right Al, it is a joke, but it's all they have. Like they say, "You pays your money, you gets what you gets." There are people who will rip you off if you let them. I've had it happen twice. I guess that's why I'm cautious. Like it says on eBay, "Caveat Emptor"
