An investigation ensued, and DNA analysis showed that it came from Dick Cheney . . . . . . . . further analysis showed that it was Laura's handwriting . . . .

Then we moved to North Dakota and had more snow, but the kids didn't drink as much beer. That meant less ammunition. Plus, when it's 40 below without the wind chill, the last thing you think of is whipping it out to spell your name.

He was a very cool guy, and told this story (when I was older) about growing up in Wisconsin (is everyone in Michigan a transplant?). His name was Frederick, his brother was Patrick. In the winter, they'd have contests to see who could write their name the fastest in the snow, but his brother always won. As the story went, it took Frederick several years to realize that he was 'writing' his full name, and Pat wasn't. It seemed funnier before I typed it out. And when I was younger. Sure miss him, though.
