Location: Upper Left USA | I am still hoping to catch up on my sleep tonight. Had a very full last few days. I was invited some time back by Kurt, aka Mr. Golf 007, to help out with this year's fledgling Gig Harbor Folk Festival . Said he would appreciate someone who won't drop guitars and could change a string. I watched "A Mighty Wind" a couple of times, so what the heck!
It was really great to see how this event came together. Got to work back stage meeting the Artists and handling their instruments, hear them warm up, open up and serve them water at various temperatures. Got to render first aid to David Linley, open a beer for... well anyway.
Excellent experience and the best way to watch a show (backstage)!
If I had a favorite that night it was Pat Donahue with his fingerpicking and great wit! Many talented performers.
Note: A great Sound Crew is the most important element! Met some fantastic guys!
Not an O in sight though... except for the Adamas 12 I brought to share with Kurt. Seems he's been having a slight case of Adamas GAS...
Thanks Kurt! |

Location: Gig Harbor, Washington | Woody is too modest! Not only was he the head back-stage roadie, but the Chief Security Officer and Staff Photographer as well!!!
'Twas truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of a very special "home-grown" event...
I'll post the link to next year's event and see how many OFCers we can bring in for the festivities (all of whom will enjoy VIP status!)... |

Oh, and btw, the chief sponsors were KeyBank & McDonald Investments (both of whom provide for my GAS!) and put my name on their business cards!
Tacoma stepped up to the plate and provided the Grand Prize for the Songwriters Contest...perhaps we can get the fine folks in New Hartford to up the ante!
Either way, GigFest 2006 should be even bigger & better (or is that Longer & Louder?) :D |
