Location: Keller, TX | The Adamas II 1681 is at the factory for a neck reset. While there, I am considering an electronics upgrade. Initially had the stereo, 2-knobs. However, the electronics aren't working great (intermittent static) and the stereo plug had been replaced, but not connected.
I would like an XLR for the sound quality. My options are Optima, OpPro, or retain the stereo 2-knobs (no XLR). I know alot of you don't like the oppro. I don't gig much, but like the sound of the XLR. I had a problem with a W597 with the Optima before, so I'm a little hesitant.
Any comments on the pros and cons of these three options? |

Location: Tennessee | I have Optimas on two guitars and I like it a lot ... it would've been my second choice. But there is something very cool about the stereo two knobber. Mine (1537) does just fine, and the stereo effect is fun once in a while. Sometimes looks does matter and it's a perfect compliment to a slice of guitar time. If it were me, I would keep it. |

Location: Tampa, FL | I've had an Optima and Op-Pro. I liked the Optima much better, the tuner felt more accurate, the ability to punch down the control knobs is pretty nice, there are those around that swear by notch filters and I felt the sound was better. Other than that the Op-Pro is fine. I think Stoneman makes a good point. Once you do this, you can't gpo back. There is something to be said for tradition and, if gigging is an occasional thing, you kind of have to decide if the XLR is that important (it probably would be to me). |

Location: SoCal | You know, I voted to retain the original 2 knobber, but I've got to admit that the 1681, while a great guitar, is not a particularly collectible guitar. There's really no need to keep it stock. Go with the OP Pro w/ XLR. |
