I was wondering, a 1658 and a 1759 are both Custom Legend 12 string, deep bowl, non cut-away. I think the only difference is 12 frets VS. 14 fret respectively. OK, maybe different electronics too. For thoses of you that have both or have experiences with both, acoustically how do they compare? Big difference, small difference, ice cream?

The 1658 is a deep bowl, slothead, 12 fret, with stacked vol/tone.

I have the 1659 which is a deep bowl, 14 fret, with stacked vol/tone. 1759 would have the OP-24?

Both the 1658 and 1659 are wonderful 12's.
Some of the difference is the slothead (bridge position and angle at the nut). There appears to be some difference with the slothead as it has a more "harpsichordic" effect. Course, when you barre or use a capo, you negate the angle at the nut.

So, you need at least one of each.

I thought there might be a 1659 but I don't see it on the archive. Is the 1659 called a Custom Legend?

Just shows the priority - painted and other stuff in other rooms but my room had this when we moved in eleven and a half years ago.

It covers the drywall so why bother changing it...any damage to the wall? Hang some more "wall candy" (a guitar, mando, or uke) over it.
