It's a quiet Christmas morning. I'm the only one up. Christmas Eve ended so poorly that I forgot to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas last night. Let's just say I'm glad I got everyone home safe from a bar and I was thankful for that. Had some help from small miracle, besides the fact that I was the sober one. The worst snow storm I have seen since we moved here stopped just before midnight, as we were driving home. The big snow storm turned to rain this morning. The family is all snuggled safe in bed, the coffee is done and I'll just wait for everyone to wake up and start a new day. They'll each get one warning that the events of last night will not be discussed so we can have Peace On Our Little Chunk of Earth for one day at least. Don't worry, pics of the new Balladeer will follow.

Now I'll continue a Christmas ritual I started when I was 5 and have continued to this day - namely, waiting anxiously for everyone else in the house to wake up.

The rain turned to heavy snow and if it keeps up like this, we'll get several more inches. I shovelled the walks at 7 and there's almost an inch of snow on top now. Brought in the paper and on the front page is a picture of an old friend of ours, whose family does an auction of "gifts" instead of a gift exchange every year and then gives the proceeds to a needy family. I'm proud to have friends like that.

The day's almost done here and it's only been Christmas for 45 minutes in Hawaii. Merry Christmas Randy. it's still dark thirty here as i'm enjoying a warm cup of mocha anticipating the awakening of my wife and children, who all happen to be snuggled together this morning. my daughters climbed into our bed somewhere around 2am. and although the times seem more troubled now, my heart is always made happier with the memories of Christmas past. so it's time to make memories for the kids now and to bask in the blessing of it all. hark! do i hear little feet in the hallway?

Courtesy of the neighbor chick. My Glenn Campbell 1627, (that was supposed to get here yesterday), may get here tomorrow. Hope y'all had a Wonderful Christmas.

Nobody gives the good fathers of the world enough credit. Theirs is a conscious act of will and character rather than nature.
