everybody thought it was good.while I was setting up,one of the older members which is an usher said he wanted to hear"YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS',believe it or not!!!!!!!!SO,I gave him what he asked for-well,the first 8 bars, anyway. Then,ya know what?they told me my playing was good;BUT THEY REALLY WANTED TO HEAR ME SING,TOO!!(I only did an instrumental this time.) SO;from now on I guess I gotta plug her in; open my mouth, and let her fly!!!(I jokingly tell the parishoners this is how I drive the mice out-must be working---no mice yet!! :p

A little humility is a good thing. But don't let that get in the way of singing. Have at it!!!

It was a very long time that I thought the only one that got to play in church was the minister's wife or an even older Organist. Nowadays we rock our little sanctuary and I get to work with Yoots (youths) and encourage them to make some noise.

Keep it up!

Hey....great to hear you guys putting your Ovations to work in the ministry.

My 1537 is my only guitar and it (obviously it's quality is much better than my ability) leads Worship every Wednesday and Sunday. Constantly get compliments on both the look and sound of the Ovation.

Now if only I could figure out how I could play bass and drums at the same time as the guitar all would be well. We are just starting a new Calvary Chapel in Hermiston, and while my wife does great on Key's, it would be great to have the rest of the group.

In the Lord's time....

Keep on....

I've been leading worship with mine for a few years now.

Up until two weeks ago, I was going direct into the house system, with no way of monitoring my sound from the stage. Two weeks ago, someone annonymously donated a Fender Acoustisonic amp to the church/band... WOW! Needless to say, not only am I able to monitor/control my sound better, but it has improved our sound remarkably. So yesterday, for the first time, I decided to use my GC 12-string in the service. GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY did it ever fill the room... I thought the walls were gonna come down! It wasn't loud, just Full! Anyway, I got a lot of positive feedback regarding the sound the GC 12 delivered, so it looks like our church has a "new member" now.

Great to see all of you church players! I'm currently looking for a local church that may not mind me playing some guitar in their service.

I grew up playing both guitar and bass in my mothers pentecostal church until I was about 17, when I stopped going. I've always said that it was the best musical training that I could've ever hoped for.

Well, I don't think HE'S using a looper!

Listen to his clips, they sound great! He's a good player. Ya gotta admire him. If I could do all that, I would too! I'm absolutely SICK of being involved with bands at the moment.
