| just returned from Brett's shop to check on the progress of the UKXII and the Vipertron, took the new addition along to be restrung, buff the board etc as well as a minor scrubbing..
and while degunking the fretboard and buffing the frets.. Brett says "it has a 69 burl in the fretboard" and I'm like ???Huh???, anyway right in the middle between the 5th and 6th fret is a Burl/Knot which forms a 69/yin-yang/or twin hurricanes depending on your orientation or perspective actually kinda cool.. but pretty hard to notice when oiled but you can still see it. surprized they used a slab with a burl in it but...
restrung it with d'addario pro-arte normal tension silvers for the first go-round and..
this is a really nice guitar!! and one of those that is so articulate and responsive that it makes you want to be a better player.. have just stretched the strings out again as they haven't fully settled in yet but it's one of those tone tone tone machines that rings like a bell both on the highs and the lows... I'm more than pleased.
anyway back to noodlin the neck.
