Well looked all over and saw no tag. Do you guys know what the microphone/Guitar models used in the VIP5 preamp are. Thanks in advance Will

Holding your breath is, however, not recommended. The first position models using a LDC mic. The rest of 'em are a blur. I would've committed 'em to memory, but I usually just try 'em during sound check until I hit the one that sounds best to me in the room.

How would you compare the 2006KOA to the 2007 BCS? I almost had a 2006 but I snoozed and some one bought it out from under me. Will

The ones Matt posted are the ones listed for my 2006, however I thought they had done "voicing" for each individual guit. For example is the 2080 voicing list different? I would imagine and hope it is.

The neck on the 2006 is glossed instead of the oil finish on the 2007 neck. I prefer the feel of the 2007, but only by a small margin. Koa and spruce sound different. A year ago I would've said I hands down prefer the sound of spruce. A good friend of mine has a 2005 and when we played together unplugged I preferred the spruce. OTOH, I prefer the VIP preamp to the OP Pro. So the 2007 seemed like the best of both. But, as time has gone by the koa really has opened up and I have come to love the sound. I may even prefer it to the spruce, but I figure that I need to give the spruce a few months to break in before I can do a really meaningful comparison. Cosmetically, I dig the fire out of the 2007. I've always liked spalted maple and the bear claw spruce looks great. Matching the light wood with the ebony fingerboard and bridge and with the black binding, saddle, hardware and headstock veneer give it a killer look. It looks bitchin' on stage with the Martin CF-1 and the Bose PAS. I also have a custom made spalted maple electric that I'll bring, depending on the gig. I get lots of comments on that set-up. I would say enjoy your 2007 BCS, but you're gonna do that anyway...

I have an all solidwood Koa Tacoma Chief that when I first got it I was a little disapointed with, not quite what I expected but over time as it opened up it is one of my favorite guitars. Thanks Will
