I'm out in Cleveland for some schooling and brought my Elite along for company. Of course I didn't think about what I would do with the guitar on my final day in town after I'm out of the hotel and attending the last day of class. Will it be OK in the car if the temp is in the single digits? I guess the alternative is to bring it in to the class.

You need to find a way to keep it indoors. One option I have used is that the hotel you are staying at will typically hold luggage for you even after you have checked out.

Take it to class. Nothing to be embarassed about. Just say you didn't want to leave it in the car.

I would definitely NOT leave it in the car!
Take it to class, play it during lunch, whatever.

do "show and tell" in class!

i am buying a 1537-4 from stellarjim in ohio. i am salivating to receive it but since it is so cold there right now, we made a decision not to have it shipped for a couple more days when the temp goes up.

Yeah... don't leave it in the car.
I've taken my guitar into a resturant to keep it out of the heat.

Take the extra day on the hotel. Cheaper and less hassle than a new top.

My Legend split last year in similar conditions and I even waited a day before I opened the case. I went out for a drink after rehersal and left it in the car for 2 hrs. When I opened the case the next day, it had a 2" crack just below the bridge.

I'm about 2 1/2 hours from Cleveland and we have the same weather. I wouldn't leave a guitar out for half an hour in the car.

When I go to meetings in the state capital, Albany, in the winter, with a roomful of lawyers and union people and other assorted civil servants, there is no way I'd leave my guitar outside. It comes with me to the meetings and sits politely in the back. Under no circumstances are you to leave it outside.

Either bring it with you, or check it with hotel concierege. Give him 2 bucks for a job well done when you get it.

Bring it in.
Perfect opportunity to make your non-verbal statements through the use of stickers on your case!

Had a CL 12 from Johnny Purple with a Ghandi quote on it that read "An eye for an eye will make the whole World blind".

Looking for "Impeach Clinton, before she's elected!"

Congratulations jbx2! You actually have everyone in agreement on something! You have my vote for "post of the day"! :D

BTW: I wouldn't leave it in the car either.

I am here in Ohio and it is 2 below. Had a praise and worship retreat at a camp which lasted all day last Saturday. Most of the guys had their Martins etc. and were sweating it. Left my graphite in the car and never had to give it a thought. Absolutely Liberating.

OK, obviously I'm guilty of thinking the unthinkable. Into class it will go. I'm at Philips Medical Systems and can imagine security wanting to run it through a CT.
Thanks to all for the helpful replies.

Enough said...please we will have to notify the Ovation Police and have your ovation confiscated and put in the hands of another owner. jk

Unless you want to buy another one...I would not advise leaving it in the car.
