I need to replace pretty much ALL the gold parts on my nutmeg T-head. I loaned it out to a friend for a year or so, and I think he must've sweat HCl acid all over it. Totally amazing. Prolly explains the bleached out armpits in his shirts, too. The boy needs some serious help!!
Now so do I!
TIA,
Buddy the Goob |

Location: Central Massachusetts | Hi Goober, Miles is your best source for this sort of stuff. He's got an eBay store with lots of tids and bits. Looks like for gold storm hardware, all he's got is a trapeze tailpiece and a single pickup. You might ping him directly to see if he's got more parts that haven't been listed yet. |

You will most likily have to upgrade to something new, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Or (and I did this on one of mine) rebuild the whole thing with new old stock chrome hardware. original pu's and wiring harnesses are available. To me the chrome actually looked more classy than the (tarnished) gold. Dave |

Take a look at www.tvjones.com and give Tom a call. Tell him who you are (didn't work for me but you seem to have a FEW connections)!
It could be he can refresh and find the right combination of electronics for your Thunderhead. He makes the Gretsch pups just about 20 miles from my house.
I could offer my services as a liason and Quality Control Agent. (that means I get to talk with Tom and act like I know what I'm doing!)
Actually Tom is a gifted talent in the pickup world. As an Ovation Fan I'd love to see what he would do with the T-Head and perhaps a Tornado or Storm.
And if you've ever worked with the innerds of an Ovation Holler-body you would have no trouble farming out the work! |
