After "quitting" active performing at the end of last year, I played my first gig last night. Not a club or bar, but a private party and a paid gig none the less.

We played well, the harmonies were solid with a good blend (the most important thing in my book) and the crowd liked our selection of material.

I did uncover a couple of things about our PA setup I'll need to address, but they're relatively minor and it give me an excuse to mess with the gear.

I'd forgotten about the best part of the gig: you get home, take the guitars into the house, leaving the rest of the junk for tomorrow; you sit down with a book and a snack and just enjoy the quiet.

Life is, in fact, good.

If 'a good time was had by all', it doesn't get much better than that.
