I wasn't sure how the textured enamel top would sound. I was very impressed with the sound. It had a nice bass and the mids and highs where very clean. Didn't plug it in but I'm sure it would sound better than a Martin 000CXE Composite.

However, I didn't really like the sound. Now, I know that doing any critical listening at GC is a waste of time. For the most part, the strings were dead, it was out fo tune and the action was set poorly. So, if it was my guitar chances are it woudl be great, but in the demo environment, it stank. Not Ovations fault, GC's fault.

The unusual thing was that for a once it was Quiet And I don't think the guitar had been in the store to long, the strings were actually not bad. I'm not much for a lot of bling on a guitar but I think this guitar would look good with epaulets.

Do all the Elite T's now have the LX bracing? Originally, the bracing was quintaid, but the flame versions had the scalloped LX. What is the way these guitars are made now? If nobody knows the answer, I'll ask Frank U at the upcoming Tour.

Al had them in stock, so I visited him. While I was there he mentioned to try the 1868T Elite. I fell in love with it. Went home with it. At the time I was not a shallow body fan, but this guitar is different. If there was ever an acoustic version of a strat, this is it. It is so much fun to play. Got an amazing sound for being shallow, and plugged in, it makes me a better player.
