Joined: February 2005 Posts: 14 | Hello, I'm sure you all remember me. I'm the guy who had a quality issue with my Ovation 1778 LX Elite a couple of months ago. Several of you wanted to crucify me here on this board. One of you actually believed that little goblins went into my closet and did something to my guitar simply because I was unable to play it for several months. This same person suggested that I sell it so that other people would have a chance to play it. Another actually searched my past postings a dug up one which showed that I was initially satisfied with it(which I was) and wondered how I could have such a change of heart and virtually insinuated that I was fabricating a false story. Well guess what? You were all wrong. I actually did have a quality problem. Ovation actually let me send it back to them and they sent me a brand new one. Imagine that. My hat is off to Mr. John at Ovation. He was extremely helpful. Thanks again Mr. John. So the next time someone like me post this type of problem on this board, you might consider holding your tongues until you know the true story. THE END!!!

I believe several people in that thread suggested that a call to 'O' Headquarters would get you set in the right direction. Now that you hae a nice guitar that you are satisfied with, stick around and chew the fat with us. Contrary to what you may believe, we don't bite (very hard). I think you'll enjoy yourself. We don't hold grudges either, but we'll harass you just the same, all in fun. See ya around! Blues

Joined: February 2005 Posts: 11840 Location: closely held secret | Let's see. You loved your Elite when you got it. You noticed a problem with it, and mentioned it. One hothead (Damon) made one crack about next time buying one from a luthier, then punked Ovation's quality. One other person made one comment about leaving it in a closet. Every other reply you got (quite a few)was either helpful advice (as in send it to the Factory and let customer service take care of it, that's what they're there for) or good-natured nonsense. We try to be helpful here, but it's an open board. Please don't hold everyone responsible for a few insensitive comments, and please don't paint us with such a broad brush, guitarmanrlk. That being said, we're happy the end of the story was a happy one, and we hope you'll stick around long enough to become one of the family! Maybe some day you'll tell us what the heck this "Bend Road" business is all about. ![]()

By the time it was ready there were enough work arounds found to avoid it in the first place. An avoidable plan. 2)A surprising result as in "I had no idea what was waiting for me around the bend". 3) Somewhere to get lost on in Oregon.
