Location: Snåsa, Norway | Tuned my 12-string down to open C and like the sound, but my strings (medium gauge) seems to be a bit light. Medium seems to be the heaviest gauge available where I buy strings, have anybody got advice on what gauge to use and where to get them? |

| My 6-string Legend is tuned down to C standard with heavy D'Addarios, EJ18. They also have heavy 12-string sets, EJ37. This is the information for the International Distributor.

Location: Snåsa, Norway | Thanks Steve for tip, but I have D'addario EJ39 on the guitar, which are nearly the same gauges (a little lighter on courses 4-6). I believe something like .13-.14 to .56 would be better for slide playing, but seems hard to find in sets. |

If you have to change from a plain string to a round-wound add 15%.
That should get you in the ballpark. |

Location: Rocky River, Ohio | john pearse and elixir make a heavy 12 string set for tuning down.
the elixirs are standard equipment on the taylor leo kottke signature 12 string, which is tuned to c#, and is specially braced for this tuning.
