Do you reallllly want one? Wouldn't you rather have two great guitars rather than one performance only oriented one?

I've seen all them Doubles, and even thought about 'em for a moment.
(My Mom mentioned seeing one on PBS, so I asked if she wanted one... No)
I was thinking that I don't play my (non-O) twelve that much, so why would I need a Double?
Like the man said, they look good on stage for one or two songs, but....

I sold mine a few years ago because of the balance. They are kinda cool on some songs, but you have to keep hauling the necks up. Thay are so overbalanced relative to the body that the guitar is really only playable sitting down. I actually tried hanging a counter weight off the endpin (attached to the strap), which fixed the balance problem, but made the dang thing HEAVY. So now I don't switch during songs - small sacrifice.

I nibbled at StephenT's fancy Ibanez doubleneck last year, and still have a white Gibson EDS-1275 on my "maybe someday" wish list, but it has fallen down a number of places over the past year, and is now getting close to toppling off altogether.

it's a twisted twollydoober tension tamer.

(in other words: it was my demented manner of getting attention paid to this thread ;) )

Can't say it worked cause I did not notice it until after the fact. Amazing how the brain will take things and make you see/read what you expect vs what the reality is!

stephen,

it's kinda like one of the norm crosby things when he tungles his tang to stell tories like "cinderella, who slopped her dripper". i especially enjoyed his version of the "pee little thrigs" and how the wig bad bolf would huff and puff and hoe the blouse down.
