I don't know if it has been there, or what (it is 33 years old). It goes with the grain. I hope that it has been there, and not just started or something bad. I haven't bumped it, and no drastic temperature changes. But I just noticed it, and now I can't help but see it every time I look at the guitar!

Just wanted to vent...

the ground around our volcano also has cracks. cracks are to vent with.

someone could probably make a wise "crack" or two about cracks and vents.

That's no good Arthur. I hope, for your sake, that the crack doesn't get any bigger. Has it affected the sound at all do you think?

Thanx for everyone's concern. I don't have a camera, and I'm not sure I could capture it. It is south of the bridge, right along where the two pieces of wood come together. Right at the seam, which is why I hadn't noticed it before. It goes with the grain, and then bears east just a tad. Upon closer inspection, I believe it is in the finish polyurethane, or whatever kind of finish an old USO has.
[But it's my USO dammit!! Couldn't be my new chinese Celebrity, huh?!]
This guitar sat in a closet for awhile, that's how I got the deal-of-the-week on it. So now it is out all the time, and played daily/hourly, the crack may have raised it's ugly head. A string-change is coming, so I will stick my hand inside and feel around, while hunting for dust-bunnies.
Then again, I may have just noticed it.
As they say in the paper industry... SHEET!!

I'm not sure I wanna do that(yet). But while I'm typing this, I'm thinking maybe a dot to keep it from going any further.
But if I get the glue out, I may wanna go all the way.
Decisions, decisions. Better not mess with it.

"...if it eats at you."(?)
I'll be looking at that every time I pick up the guitar!!
