There are two graphite rods in the neck, so the adjustment is really only going to affect the relief in the first 7 frets or so. It's very responsive, so only make 1/8 of-a-turn adjustments at a time. The other action adjustment (string height) is accomplished by taking out or adding shims under the saddle(also easily done). Drive west and I'll help you do it. We also have a members in Yucaipa & San Diego.

Thank you. So, there are shims under it that I can take out? Because it looks like it could stand to come down.

I wonder if Ovation changed it recently, or if you have an upgraded case. BTW, did you get the keys with it? Looks like you have a set of EJ16's or EXP16's on there, I can't tell for sure, but it looks like your ball end on your "G" (green) is crooked in the bridge? Not a big deal, just looks strange to me. You can lower the action real easy, just loosen up the strings about an inch or so and pull them up at the bridge and pull the pickup/saddle straight up and out. You'll probably have 2-3 shims in there. I had 3, I took out one. With 2 shims Im right at 3/32(E)-2.5/32(e). Perfect for me. When you wear out your D'addarios. Try some Martin SP 4100 12-54. They are my favorite on that guitar.

One more question, which way do you turn the rod to straightned the neck? Looking down the neck, from headstock to bridge. Clockwise will tighten the truss rod, and pull the neck back towards you when in playing position, removing relief. Likewise, the opposite does the opposite. Counter-Clockwise , loosen , neck pulls forward, away from you in playing position, adding relief.

I think I'll spend some time in the next day or so and remove the shims and adjust the truss rod to taste... Just as I remember, the plugged in sound is nice! I really like the built in tuner on this guy, very handy and accurate.
