Location: Boise, Idaho | I just stopped at a pawnshop and played an old 1111 Balladeer from 1975. The headstock and foot of the neck had bowl paint on it and it looked like the rest of the neck used to have bowl paint on it that was worn smooth from years of playing. I couldn't imagine that was original, expect that the Ovation logo on the headstock and the tuners looked original. Also, the neck did not look like it had ever been replaced.
Anyone know if Ovation ever painted the back of the necks with bowl paint? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | They always want way too much for Ovations at that pawnshop and I wasn't in the market, but it was curious. They give me the "they slip off the leg" story, but they price them about twice what they should be. |
