I'm afraid I don't have any shiny pics to share with you, because I don't yet have an Ovation -- I'm interested, though, which is why I'm here. I play left-handed (the curse of the guitar purchaser..), and was wondering if anyone knows of sources for used left-handed Ovations with the multi-hole epaulet (in the $400-$800 range, say)? I know I can custom order some models from Ovation, but I'd rather not wait the three months it'll take for that. I've seen the LCS247 occasionally available, but it's a big gamble to buy a model of a guitar sight-unseen. Thanks for reading! I envy you all your guitars. :)

The celebrity is quite common on ebay. This one is currently on the bay. (i'm not the seller btw) Elite L778

I think I'm deciding between the (L)CS247 and 778, then -- would anyone be able to take a stab at describing the differences between them? There's an OP-30 in the 247 and an OP-40 in the 778, so that's one difference, although it doesn't bother me so much because I mainly play unplugged. I wonder if the unplugged sound would be far superior with the 778.. Thanks again for the help!

The LCS247 has a laminate top... The L778 has a Solid Sitka Spruce top. The LCS247 will cost less... The L778 will cost more.

For example, you couldn't take a right handed guitar and put the preamp on the bottom. If you hunt for threads where people have replaced a non-kidney shaped preamp, or put a kidney shaped preamp in an acoustic only guitar, you'll see what they had to do to find "that" spot - basically creating a mold.

I don't think you can get anything similar from Ovation without going all the way up to Adamas (and I'd like to stay under $1000), but I might be wrong..

I see one for $1000 from southpawguitars -- it's obviously much more than the current $600 new price (for the non-USA made version), does anyone know whether that sounds reasonable?
