Will this fit into a medium bowl Elite that currently has an Op Pro in it? The settings seem like they would be the same as the 2007 Collector's as this Elite has a spruce top with holes only on the bass side.

I've searched the old threads and couldn't find the answer. TIA

Nope, cans. That's the shell inside the bowl that the preamp fits into....

OK, Listen up! Class is in session. Due to availability of instructional items and the fact I'm at home waiting for a day of Medical appointments let's do a little 3D BB on the Preamp change out.

The "can" is the same but the connecting hardware to the preamp is specific for most preamps. Here is an OP30 and an OP Pro Studio.
The OP Pro and OP Pro Studio use the same can by the way.

In the last picture you have a side by side of the modern bowl and a Kaman Bar glass bowl. The glass bowl isn't a precise fit for the kidney shaped preamp can.

Changing Preamps is a snap when the Top is missing! If you change the kidney shaped units out you most likely need a new can as well as matching the 1/4" and XLR outputs.

Interesting! What holds the cans in place?

There are small wedges on the side of the bowl and two pop-out units on the side of the can that tighten with screws from the inside.

But, I do love the sonic possibilites of this preamp.

I think Woody removed them from guitars so he could install nice rosewood box back and sides.

To go with so many necks!

You know guys, let's never give Woodrow a bad time about this hobby. It keeps him off the streets and saves his wife a ton in bail money...

Y'know Woody? I'm Impressed! I need to get me a hobby.

[Bet I could build 'em better than I can play 'em]

Actually Paul, She'd only spend the bail money once. Threre wouldn't be a second time if you know what I mean!

Left to Right:

1113 neck - came to me as dry as an Arizona Twinkie. The Ebony is cracked up the middle and was cupped inward. Lots of oil and a little sanding after pulling the frets.
1112 neck - Came with the Kaman bar bowl with cutaway and case.

Preacher Deluxe - DVD's Faux Limited Project.

Deaf Viper - My next up Project with a Mahogany body, LR Baggs Tune-a-matic Piezo bridge, TV Jones pups and who knows what. Can somebody going to the Tour swipe me some guts to the VXT please???

Papoose Neck - Awaiting a repaired Tacoma Papoose body.

I don't smoke, drink heavy, chew and spit, go hunting, have a fishing boat or plan on having an affair. Already did the wasted money on shiny trucks thing.

Just fix em and play em!

looks like a great show and tell session Michael, as I look at it, I envision the other Mike(crimsonlake), starting a similar project for me, on the 1613... hopefully with the top still on tho ;)

will be interesting to have a classical with ADII elx...

Thanks to the Mike's they are and have been a great help to me.
