Wanna hear the really cool part? I was on the phone with another OFC member, while I was surfing the bay and bottom feeding, no idea that Char was being released today, nor any of the other news or changes yet relayed to me.... I was just heading up for my visit after the morning runaround and paying bills etc....

Well this really great guy tells me(after talking with him for 30 minutes or so) that "you need to go up and see Char now."

I did.

He was right.

Nice Talking to you again Noah. hope you and the wife had at least as eventful and blessed day together as we did.

Thanks Bruce.

God Bless,

Glenn

Good news Glenn. Hope it's all better.

Back to the issue of 'sniping'...

Anyone that DOESN'T snipe is throwing their money away.

Would you let the opposition see your cards if you were playing poker?

One bid only, the maximum amount you're willing to pay. It's a business, not a game.

Glenn - that's great news! It's scary what one little mistake in a number can mean to someone. My father-in-law is going through his diabetes related trials as well. He found out yesterday that he needs a corneal transplant. Not good.

I'll be getting your other baby back to you shortly. I have a couple of small items to take care of and it will be finished. All of the major drilling/sawing/sanding/planing (am I scaring you yet??) is done and the electronics are in and wired.

Hooray! That's the kind of news I just love to get! I will keep praying, though, that no further complications will develop.

So after writing the above post, I went down into the basement to finish up Glenn's guitar...

I turn the light on and step into a few inches of water. FORTUNATELY anything guitar related was up off of the floor on work tables or shelves. Unfortunately, there were a few tools and pretty much all of my kids electronics (Nintendo WII - about a week old, PS2, etc.).

Looks like a new water heater. Does anyone have any experience with the wall mount tankless water heaters? Is it worth the extra expense?

Great way to start the day!

Be thankful it was in the basement. We had a pipe break in the room above the garage and a toilet break above the kitchen. The kitchen was the worst, but at least the ceiling didn't cave in like it did in the garage.

Oh man the LeakFrog would've definitely helped! I am definitely getting one of those.

Mark - I am definitely thankful. In the grand scheme of things, this is a minor annoyance. We had the septic back up into the house once and I can't even begin to describe that! I was travelling for work at the time, so my wife had to deal with that one.

I've got an old x-box I revived with a new dvd drive and new power supply if that would help out... they could have it... sorry to hear about the flood.

If an auction ends while I am at home, I snipe. Usually within the last 5 seconds. This accomplishes 2 things. 1)Makes it almost impossible for me to be outbid unless someone has already outbid my max and 2) keeps me from bidding more than I am willing to spend. I have won more than I have lost. Sometimes I see a guitar I really like but don't bid if it is too close to my max. I remember a Custom Elite(I think) 12 string that was around $8-900 and just figured I would only be costing the buyer more by bidding. It wasn't really what I was looking for at the time but it was sooooo pretty. A couple weeks later what I was looking for showed up and I got it for around $400, I think. Do you still have that 12 , Tuppy?

Glenn - thanks for the offer - I'm hoping the insurance will cover that.

I called the ServPro guys at the recommendation of the plumber. These guys came and cleaned up everything...my basement has never been cleaner. And they were the most professional, friendly people I have ever had to deal with - for you Seinfeld fans - much like the Sunshine Carper Cleaners.

In reality, aside from the video game stuff and a couple of tools, there was nothing else that I am going to miss that was lost.
