Here are a few of the pictures I've just posted to my gallery of my 1537.

It was a little overcast, but hey, it is called Thunder Bay!

Actually overcast is better, sweet pics. Just enough character to make it unique.

The bay shot with the Birch tree should earn some kudo's for the calendar!

Thanks Woody, yeah, there was just enough cloud to diffuse the light so that the shadows weren't too harsh. I do like the look of the aged spruce, nice honey gold.

1537's are such beautiful guitars! And oddly, for a guitar with a fiberglass back, they are extremely organic in appearance. I love mine....

I'm just trying to find enough pictures of a 1537 to ease the pain till mine gets here. There's something about the looks of that guitar that just does it for me. It may be the wood binding or purfing, what ever you call it. Very nice Grif! Thanks for the pictures! ;)

Has anybody here noticed what seems to be unique about this guitar?

Paul,

The Tone and Volume position indicators are set in at 3 o'clock instead of 11. That and the screw for the battery box seems to be set a bit higher on the waist, at least compared to mine.

Very nice guitar. I had the opportunity to play Mitchrx's 1537, and it's one sweet sounding instrument. Looks can be very deceiving ... when I first saw it, I thought it would be just another Ovation with epaulets and multiple sound holes, but I was mistaken. Coming from someone who prefer Ovations with one center sound hole, instead of multiple with epaulet(s), I will say that the 1537 really sings! :)

Thanks for all the kind comments. I noticed about the volume & tone indicator positioning as well, I guess when they repaired the preamp, that's where the zero's wound up.
It's a low enough serial# that it might be one of the first to have the repositioned battery box, maybe that's why it's in a slightly different position.
You guys know a whole lot more about it than I do, what do you think?

Hi brainslag.

I noticed that after I took the photos, the high E ball end has been seated correctly now.

My bad.
